Afternoon Blues

Have you ever sat, after lunch, at your table?

With the clock slowly ticking and you feel unable,

To get on with your work cause you feel so unstable.

Eyes droopy,

Head blank.

With the view from your window,

Does it feel like a tank?

And you are the fish that's trapped within,

Swimming about aimlessly, unable to win.

Your work goes undone though you try to look busy

When you try to focus it just makes you feel dizzy

Have you ever sat, after lunch, at your table?

With the clock slowly ticking and you feel unable,

To get on with your work cause you feel so unstable.

I'm glad it's not just me then.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
