Art History 101: Game of Dragon Thrones

An 18th-century Chinese dragon has a tale to tell..

For clarification, we quote the Metropolitan Museum of Art:

A distinction was drawn between the five-clawed dragon (long) and the four-clawed dragon (mang), which represented lower ranks. The striped water pattern seen here at the bottom center of the roundel developed during the Qing dynasty.
