Gemiler Island

Editor's Note: The original name for this Aegean island is 'Gemile' in Turkish, which comes from Greek καμηλα (camel). FWR reports that the island is said to have been the home of Saint Nicholas. There are also some fascinating ruined churches from the 4th-6th centuries CE. Here are some ruins.
