Part of the h2g2 Theatre.
This auditorium is a traditional proscenium arch* theatre; a long chamber with a raised stage. The seating in the stalls slopes to a slight degree from the back. There is also a circle, a balcony above that, and boxes to either side.
The stage space has purposely large wings - most proscenium arch theatres you'll visit tend to have one wing just too small to fit the props and actors into. Drapes, cloths and light scenery is flown in from the flies* above the stage; heavier scenery comes on from the wing stage right (stage left being the Stage Manager's wing). The stage has a circle on it which can revolve, rise or fall; and there is a trapdoor as well. There is a great chamber underneath the stage, housing a workshop and the safety curtain.
